Becoming a Disney travel agent

I get asked all the time how I started being a Disney travel agent- and it was from getting a normal quote through an agency like you may have done.

There are plenty out there that DON'T require an annual/maintenance fee- in fact, Authorized Disney travel agencies can't have those! Always ask an agency if they have up front fees, because there are plenty that don't and want you to put it toward your own advertising and building your name.

Do your homework!  Look up complaints against the agency either by their agents or clients.  Ask a few agents how they have liked working there and if they are paid regularly.  It will save you lots of hassle! There are numerous agencies that do this as a 3rd party outside of Disney, so check around at more than one to find the right fit. It's supposed to be fun and magical- because you are making someone's vacation dreams happen!  This little extra research at the beginning will make all the difference.

Disney Cruise Line reveals 2013 Disney Wonder and Magic sailings!

I noticed something was going on when they took away some of the Mexican Riviera cruises from December 2012 on the Disney Wonder- the last one is the December 2 sailing. I was very curious to see what they were planning! The Disney Magic didn't have a full schedule out for 2013 until now either! It's exciting to see some new ports and itineraries coming up next year!

THE DISNEY WONDER

The Disney Wonder will be respositioning from Los Angeles beginning December 9, 2012 and sail to Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, through the Panama Canal, Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Costa Maya ending in Miami, FL on a 14-night cruise- which includes 7 days at sea.

There will also be an Eastern Caribbean Holiday Cruise out of Miami on December 23, 2012 for 7-nights which includes stops at St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Castaway Cay plus 3 days at sea.

Then there is another Holiday cruise out of Miami for New Year's to the Western Caribbean, stopping in Key West, Grand Cayman and Cozumel for a 6-night cruise, including 2 more days at sea.

It will stay in Miami for January, February, March, and April before returning to the West coast doing 4-night Bahamas cruises, 5-night Western Caribbean cruises and 5-night Eastern Caribbean cruises at the beginning of 2013.

The Disney Wonder will be returning in May 2013 for the Alaska 7-night cruises out of Vancouver with one Pacific Coast cruise from Los Angeles to Vancouver.

THE DISNEY MAGIC

The Disney Magic will continue to do 6- and 8-night Western Caribbean Cruises in 2013 until mid-May when it will cross the Atlantic to sail on Mediterranian cruises out of Barcelona, Spain in June, July and August 2013.  There are a few 4-night cruises to France and Spain, 7-night cruises to France and Italy and 12-night cruises to France, Italy (including Venice overnight), Croatia, Malta and even a few 12-night cruises with a stop in Greece, Turkey, Italy, France and Malta.

Booking begins for Gold and Platinum Castaway Club members starting Weds, January 25 and then other Club levels and new DCL cruisers can start booking Thurs, January 26 through your favorite Disney travel agent!  Email for dates and more information!
